Spiritual Life

Recognizing that all students are unique and made in God’s image, Holy Family Catholic School strives for all of our students to experience academic success, become useful members of the body of Christ, and reach their highest potential in both of these areas. We are committed to offering students an educational opportunity that will enhance and grow their learning across the curriculum.

Kids for Jesus (K4J)

Students in kindergarten through second grade can register for this monthly club. The goal of the monthly meetings is to help motivate children to practice virtue, make good choices, and love Christ through their Catholic Faith. Activities include crafts, games and other fun activities designed to reinforce the mission of the month or virtue of the month. Additionally, monthly classroom presentations and assemblies (presented by our National Junior Honor Society) are presented to the whole student body.
Virtues in Action (VIA)

Students in grades four through eight participate in monthly assemblies led by our Student Leadership Council. Working with the same or similar monthly virtue as the K4J program the Student Leadership council presents and age appropriate skit demonstrating ways to demonstrate the virtue. During the following month, teachers focus on the virtue in the classroom, observing students demonstrating the virtue. One student from each homeroom is recognized at the next assembly as an example of a student who demonstrates that particular virtue.
Jesus Christ (JC) Award

Holy Family Catholic School sponsors an annual award to be presented to one eighth grade student who most exemplifies Jesus Christ in his/her daily life. Any member of the Holy Family Catholic School community, including students, faculty and staff, may nominate an eighth grader for this award. Nominations are prayerfully reviewed by eighth grade teachers, guidance counselor, assistant principal, and principal. The winner is presented with a trophy and certificate during the graduation ceremony.
Disciple of Christ Award

Students in Grades K – 8 (three students per class per trimester) will be awarded the Disciple of Christ Award. To be eligible for this award, a student must display a Christ-like attitude, follow classroom procedures, put forth his/her best effort and help others. This award is presented after each trimester and annually.
Liturgy

Our entire school celebrates the liturgy weekly by attending the 8:30 mass every Friday. Students have the opportunity to participate in the liturgy by joining the school choir or volunteering for a daily reading (upper grades only). Parents are always welcome to join us for this lovely celebration of the Eucharist.
Adoration Chapel

We are very blessed to have a perpetual adoration chapel at Holy Family. Our students spend 15 minutes a week in the presence of Christ when their class visits the chapel. During this time of silent mediation, student can pray the rosary, read the Bible, or just have a personal conversation with Jesus. This time provides our students with the opportunity to deepen their relationship with Christ.
